Last week I hosted an Instagram Live with the lovely ladies of Equilibria CBD, Coco Meers, Co-Founder and CEO, and Bonnie Knobloch, Head of Business Development. And how informative it was!! An hour filled with Questions submitted by Y O U...and based on the feedback I've received thus far...it helped shed a T O N of light on the CBD Market and why Equilibria is at the forefront of it all. Unfortunately, I was unable to save the LIVE, but I wanted to have a place for you all to reference the questions and answers we discussed so I'm going to share those below. These were submitted by Y O U and answered by both Coco and Bonnie. The Key Takeaway I took from our call is be sure you align with a CBD company that is SCIENCE BASED, not all CBD is created EQUALLY, do your RESEARCH, and be CONSISTENT with your regimen. I was equal parts impressed and excited for what's to come with the Equilibria Team. If you decide that Equilibria is the right fit for you, feel free to use code SEERSUCKERANDSADDLES for 20% off your initial order and/or the limited edition FLAVORED DROPS. See FAQs below with Coco & Bonnie:

Equilibria CBD

Where is your CBD sourced and what makes is different than other brands?

Three things that makes EQUILIBRIA different, one of them is our sourcing so let’s start there:

Our own farm in Colorado

Our personalized Dosage Specilaists

For Women by Women

What makes Equilibria the real deal in this flooded market?

Obsession with quality

Genetics

Consistency in greenhouse & agriculture

Hand-harvesting

Commitment to dosage

Is Equilibria lab tested and/or outsourced?

3rd party lab tested

AND … we have our own lab

Are the ingredients organic?

YES, 1100 acre organic farm

Is CBD safe during pregnancy/nursing/ PPD/ trying to get pregnant?

Unfortunately pregnant and breastfeeding women are always the last group to be studied in clinical trials, so there's very little data as to whether or not CBD can be used during pregnancy. The absence of data leaves us unable to fully answer your question! New CBD studies are published monthly so we are keeping an eye on it.

Ultimately for most women it comes down to whether CBD is helping them manage anxiety and reduce the amount of pharmaceuticals they’re taking. Some women decide it's the lesser of two evils, and some women decide not to use it during their pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It really comes down to a personal choice--and as always, a discussion with your doctor.

Can anyone take Equilibria or is it just for women-- men and teens?

In the future we will be coming out with products specifically formulated for women, but at the moment all of our products are completely safe for men. Many of our members are men!

Unfortunately, we can’t advise on usage for anyone under 18.

Can CBD be mixed with current medications and/or alcohol? Will it affect any of my current prescriptions?

We always encourage you to speak with your doctor whenever adding CBD into your routine. CBD and some medications can interact with the same liver enzymes. Often making your medication more effective, which can result in an increase in side effects.

CBD and alcohol can be used together in moderation. A couple glasses of wine should be fine, but let's maybe skip the shots.

Can you travel/fly with CBD?

Our products contain less than .3% of THC, which makes it federally legal. It's perfectly safe to fly domestically with your CBD. The TSA even explicitly says so on their website. In fact, CBD can be a great tool for helping you travel!

What are the THC levels?

Our product contains less than 0.3% of THC which is federally legal and cannot get you high.

That small amount of THC is important! CBD is more effective when combined with THC; scientists call it the ensemble effect.

Will CBD show up in drug testing?

While it is uncommon for members to test positive given the very low THC content in our products, it is not impossible.

Everyone’s body chemistry is different, so we don’t know for sure how your body will metabolize our products.

Think of it like consuming alcohol. If a beer is 5% ABV/Alcohol By Volume (like how our products contain 0.3% THC or less), the amount you consume determines your BAC/Blood Alcohol Level (or in this case, THC level in bloodstream). So the more you ingest at a time, the more likely it will be detected on a test.

Worried? Grab an over-the-counter THC test at your local pharmacy to find out for sure.

Are there regulations (Federal laws/FDA ) with CBD the way there is for marijuana?

While CBD is mostly an unregulated market, we’ve partnered with an organic farm in Colorado where we’ve chosen to follow all of the strictest medical marijuana laws even though we are not obligated to do so. See here for our third party lab results. Because we have our own, single source, organic farm in Colorado, you can feel confident knowing you are getting the same product consistently batch to batch!

How long before you notice a ‘real’ difference in your body after starting CBD?

Everyone’s different! Some people notice something right away and some people can take a few month of consistent use before they notice the effects. It can take time to find the right dosage and routine, so it’s important to start low and slow and experiment!

Ingredient list-

CBD is one of many chemical compounds found in industrial hemp plants. These compounds, called cannabinoids, work together to amplify each other’s medical benefits for the most desirable outcomes.

Any other physical ingredients used in our products are simple, clean, and there for a reason — in our Daily Drops, for instance, the only other ingredient is pharmaceutical-grade MCT oil.

Daily Drops: Activated full-spectrum hemp flower oil CBD concentrate, MCT oil. Vegan.

Daily Softgels: Activated full-spectrum hemp flower oil CBD concentrate, kosher beef gelatin, MCT oil, vegetable glycerin, and purified water.

Relief Cream: Activated full-spectrum hemp flower oil, coconut oil, shea butter, arnica, menthol, lavender, rosemary. Vegan.

Are there different formulas/product offerings for different health issues? IE: trouble sleeping vs sciatica pain

Everyone’s body chemistry is different. CBD is about supporting your own body’s system, so there’s no one-size-fits-all.

Finding the right delivery method is just as important as finding the right dosage and routine!

Our Daily Softgels are swallowed, like you would a vitamin, which means you lose some of the absorption to your digestive system; but it also stays in your system for longer. They can take 1-3 hours to kick in but can last for 6-8 hours. Members use them to help them stay asleep, set a consistent baseline for the day (used in tandem with the Drops), and for digestive issues (where it can act like a topical). They’re great for keeping a slow and steady drip all day and night!

The Daily Drops are held under the tongue, which allows it to mostly bypass the digestive system; so it hits you harder and faster, but it also leaves your system sooner. It can take 10-30 min to kick in, but will last 4-6 hours. The Drops are also great for microdosing, helping you find your correct dose. Members use the Drops for all kinds of things including regulating mood and anxiety, helping them fall asleep faster, managing inflammation, and hormone regulation. Its fast-acting properties also make it great for episodic relief as well.

With our Relief Cream, a little goes a long way. Members use our Relief Cream for all kinds of things including arthritis, ovarian/uterine discomfort, headache relief, muscle soreness, and even on their feet after a long day in uncomfortable shoes! We suggest starting with a small pea-size amount. (Members with chronic pain may need more.) It's perfectly safe to use it multiple times a day. Simply use as needed!

How do I know I’m getting the right product and correct amount and what determines a person’s dosage?

It can take time and experimentation to find what works best for you. Most people need to try a few things before they find what works best for them. This is where our DOSAGE SPECIALIST are hugely important.

Are there any long-term effects or research done on how it affects the body/overall health in time?

CBD hasn't been legal for long enough to really understand the long term effects. What we do know is that the World Health Organization released a report that says " Across a number of controlled and open label trials of the potential therapeutic effects of CBD it is generally well tolerated, with a good safety profile." We also know that cannabis has been used as medicine for thousands of years (the first known recorded instance is from the Chinese Emperor Shen Nung in 2727 B.C.). So while CBD may seem like a new fad, it's actually been around for centuries!

If CBD promotes quality sleep, am I still able to take it in the morning hours?

CBD does not inherently make us sleepy. CBD interacts with our own body's processes, so in the evening as you're winding down, it can assist in helping you wind down. Conversely, in the morning, as your body is in the process of waking up, it helps your body wake up.

Does CBD/ flavored CBD have sugar/ Carbs? Does it break my fast? Does it need to be taken with food?

There are no carbs or sugar, but the MCT oil we use as a carrier has the following:

Per 15 mL of MCT:

115 calories

14 grams fat

(comprised of 14 grams of saturated fat)

0 grams carbohydrate

0 grams protein

So for our products, the nutritional information is as follows:

Tincture (10 mg or 50 mg) @ 1 dropper (1 mL):

7.67 calories

0.93 grams fat

(comprised of 0.93 grams of saturated fat)

0 grams carbohydrate

0 grams protein

Softgels - per gel (either 10 mg or 25 mg):

3.83 calories

0.47 grams fat

(comprised of 0.47 grams of saturated fat)

0 grams carbohydrate

0 grams protein

Concerns with allergic reactions.

It’s rare to have an allergic reaction but it can happen. It’s most often a reaction to the coconut-derived MCT oil. Sometimes the oil will make a person's throat a little itchy, but that's typically a reaction to the terpenes--it's a little like swallowing black pepper, it's not harmful but a little itchy.

What would you tell those who are skeptical?

Don’t just take our word for it! There’s extensive scientific research being done. You can learn more on our website and by speaking with our Dosage Specialists.

How do I know what I need, what products work for what and what dosage to order?

Everyone's body chemistry is different, so before recommending a dosage regimen it's important to try it out and see how your body responds first. The Relief Cream, Daily Drops and the Daily Softgels work differently within the body we encourage you to start off with one of our curated boxes. That way you can gauge how your body reacts to each of the products!

What are the overall benefits?                                                                                  -- People are wanting to know benefit specifically for sleep, skin issues (eczema, hives), menopause, inflammation, anxiety, nerve pain, arthritis pain, panic attacks, chronic migraines, fibromyalgia.

It all comes down to balance. CBD is helping support homeostasis within the body, which can result in improved mood and sleep, reduced inflammation, hormone regulation, and less stress (among other things). Ultimately it's about what your own body needs. All CBD does is help support our own system!

Benefits versus risk if any.

CBD has a safe profile that is generally well tolerated in most people. The most common side effects reported are drowsiness, nausea or headaches - most people who experience these side effects find that they go away on their own.

Any negative affects for reproduction if taken by men?

There’s little evidence that CBD is a factor in declining sperm count.  Those reports are referencing a 1986 study done on male mice. To date, there has been no evidence of public health-related problems directly attributable to the use of cannabidiol.

As per FDA guidelines, Equilibria is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any ailments or disease. As always, consult with your physician before starting any new program that may interact with your current health plan.
