Chase’s Skincare Routine

If there is one thing Chase takes the most pride in, aside from her signature curls (and studies of course), her skincare takes the cake. I wish I could say her love of all things skin came from me, however after spending much of my own teenage years drenched in tanning oil and experiencing skin cancer woes in my 20s and 30s, I’d say I’ve served as inspo for what NOT to do in your teens….needless to say, I could’ve definitely used a tip or two from my girl.

Here is the breakdown of products Chase is currently loving and the order in which she uses them. If you or your teen are struggling with complexion woes, I hope some of these products might do the trick for you!

  1. CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser - This non-comedogenic and fragrance-free cleanser removes dirt, oil and makeup while exfoliating with salicylic acid to soften and smooth without drying out your skin, which is essential during the colder months!

  2. Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant - This exfoliate works to unclog and minimize enlarged pores while smoothing texture…eh hem and wrinkles for those of us over the age of 30.

  3. La Roche-Posay Toner - If one pore shrinking potion wasn’t enough, this product works to eliminate remaining excess oils, while unlocking and reducing pore visibility…hence that porcelain glow.

  4. COSRX Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Serum - If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve likely seen this brand taking the beauty scene by storm. I’ll address the obvious first…yes, it is made out of snail secretion and yes, it is pretty great from my own experience using it. Hear me out, while it may sound gross…the serum has no scent and the secretion aids in wound healing and skin regeneration…interest peaked? It also claims to improve skin elasticity, prevent moisture loss and soothe red, irritated skin. SO if you can look past the “snail goo,” it is worth a shot—I’m a huge fan of their sheet masks too!

  5. La Roche-Posay Acne Treatment Retinoid - While retinoid certainly wasn’t something I introduced into my skincare routine at age 16, I can personally attest—this over the counter version is amazing. Cam and I were both having stubborn forehead breakouts and leave it to Chaser to steer us in the La Roche direction….has zapped the zits on all 3 of us!

  6. La Roche-Posay Double Repair Face Moisturizer with SPF - The final step of Chase’s routine is this moisturizer which helps repair skin’s natural protective barrier for up to 48-hours of hydration. It’s suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and has SPF 30 so you’re always protected! I’ve used this off and on for the past few months (been alternating with some other goodies) and I, too, love it.

So whether you’re in the market to up your own skincare game, or looking to help your teen start on their own skincare journey, these products have worked wonders for Chase & myself!
